OUR story
"The Extension" was born from a simple but heartfelt idea my partner and I shared as a young couple living in this neighborhood. While both of us have our own day jobs, we’ve always been passionate about the ways people come together — about creating spaces that invite community, connection, and growth.
When we inherited a charming yet timeworn local vintage shop, once known for its collection of lighting and clocks and other small treasures, we saw more than just its nostalgia; we saw possibility. The shop had a story, and we wanted to continue it, not by preserving it exactly as it was, but by reimagining it for today’s community.
So we created The Extension — a space that honors the past while embracing change. Sometimes it’s a cozy café, sometimes a vibrant retail space, sometimes a gathering spot for workshops or neighborhood events. It’s a space that shifts and evolves with the rhythm of the people around it. Always open to ideas, always welcoming connections.
For us, the name doesn’t just represent the extension of a physical shop, it symbolizes the extension of community, creativity, and everyday life. It’s about how spaces can grow with people, how neighbors become friends, and how shared moments a warm drink, an inspiring find, or a good conversation can make a place feel like home.
